Newly translated from Spanish, The Man of Villa Tevere by Pilar Urbano paints a remarkably vivid portrait of the day-to-day life of St. Josemaria Escriva, “the patron saint of ordinary life.” Set in the world headquarters of Opus Dei and rich with anecdotes culled from the Founder’s contemporaries, this acclaimed biography chronicles the construction of the Roman center in the 1950s through Monsignor Escriva’s death there in 1975.

This is the first significant biography about St. Josemaria since the English-language release in 2001 of the three-volume work by A. Vazquez de Prada, The Founder of Opus Dei. With four pages of photos included, Urbano’s biography is full of lively anecdotes and stories about the founder of Opus Dei that will edify and inspire.
